Who are Power Capital Renewable Energy?

Power Capital Renewable Energy (PCRE) was founded in 2011, with a long-term goal of producing clean, sustainable energy.

We are a specialist, independent Irish company with a growing international presence. We build photovoltaic (PV) solar farms that produce electricity and continue to grow our portfolio through projects which we believe will help meet climate action targets and benefit local communities.

Project Background

PCRE is carrying out public consultation in advance of the submission of a planning application for the following:

  • Solar Farm
  • Battery Energy Storage System

The proposed development area is spread across the townlands of Laragh Beg, Carrowreagh East, Caherlissakill, Lissaniska, Oakwood South, Cahernaglass, Carrowmore, Cashlaundarragh, Ryehill Demesne, Parkacurry, Ballynaboorkagh and Knockauncarragh. The Site Location Plan can be viewed in the virtual consultation room below.

Project Benefits

  • This project will contribute to the decarbonisation of energy supply.
  • This project will help to ensure Ireland’s energy security.
  • This project will boost the local economy, including a Community Benefit Fund.
  • The technology is proven and operates safely around the world.
  • The project can co-exist with agriculture and offer diversification for landowners.

Public Consultation

PCRE is committed to extensive community consultation and stakeholder engagement throughout the duration of the project.

We held a public drop-in session on Thursday 26th June 2025 at the Fr. Sammon Centre - Monivea Hall (2 R339, Glennagloghaun North, Co. Galway, Ireland).

We can also post hard copies of the project information if requested.

Following initial feedback on our conceptual plans, we plan to engage again in advance of the submission of a planning application to Galway County Council later this year.

This website will also be updated in due course with additional information.
